Auctions & Foreclosures
Auctions and foreclosures are very common events in maritime law. They may arise from a variety of reasons, including foreclosure of ship mortgages and foreclosure of maritime liens.
Auctions may be held by the US Marshal, US Customs or other government agency or private auctioneers depending upon the reason for the auction.
Private auctions are becoming a very common way that owners may dispose of their vessel in a quick, effective manner. We work closely with Marine Auction Services to avail our clients of this very effective service.
